Hello all,

I am hoping to connect with other folks who have a parent with BPD/narcissistic personality disorder (that is untreated or improperly treated).  I find that this role is extremely lonely and while I do see a therapist regularly, it would be nice to connect with some folks living this reality as well.

Appreciate your time.

Hello

Yes it can feel extremely lonely. My mom is uBPD and my father enables her behavior. I am largely estranged from my family... .
My close friends know my background and understand the dynamics, but frankly, most people from more "normal" families hear stories about my mother and find them almost unbelievable. I don't share much about my family with others because the dysfunction is so widespread and so ridiculous that most people can't grasp it. It can be very lonely to feel like the people who understand you are very few... .

I hope you find this forum useful. It has been extremely helpful to me to read other's stories and feel like I'm not alone at all.

Hi puzzlepiece18

I would like to join GreenGlit in welcoming you to our online community. I think you'll fit right in here as we all try to solve this puzzle.

Having a support network can be invaluable as dealing with a BPD/NPD parent can really take its toll on you. I am glad you have the support of a therapist and are now also reaching out here for support

I gather your parent is not being treated for BPD/NPD, or at least not properly treated, is that correct? Has your parent been diagnosed with BPD/NPD or perhaps some other disorder?

What are your parent's behaviors that you find most difficult or challenging to deal with?
