Tonite is one of those nights. My son is having a really bad night and I am worried he will lose his job. Wish I could calm him down.

Does your son live with you in your household?

My son lost his job. Now he is here at my house. He has an apartment 30 mins away but doesn't want to stay there. I have three younger children but he is demanding all my time and attention. Haven't been able to work, keep food stocked, leave the house, make plans, etc. He is very upset at himself and extremely sensitive. Don't know where to begin to help him get up and going again.

Hi Blue Heron
I am so sorry that your assessment was correct and your son lost his job. You are under a lot of stress right now and you have several people depending on you. Who do you have to support and help you? Can you give us a little more information about his background i.e. Age? Diagnosed? Treatments? Counseling for either or both of you? etc. We are here to listen and help in whatever way we can. There is a lot of useful information on this site that can help you find your path to communicate with your son as well as take care of yourself which is extremely important. Please stay in touch and let us know how you are doing. Scout206

Hi Blue Heron
I'm so sorry, that's a stressful and exhausting situation you are in right now, your son demanding all your attention you are struggling to keep your household and life together.
As
Scout206
says if you can provide a little more background on your son, has your son any kind of mental health support team, eg therapist you can help him to reach out to. The first time my daughter hit crisis, not knowing what to do, how to help her I reached out to our local mental health crisis team for help, it was such a relief. Like you I didn't know how to help her, what I did recognise she needed additional support and this took the pressure off me and allowed me to get my life back in some sort of semblance order.
Is there a friend or family you can call on to help support you and your family at this time?
Hugs, we are here for you
