Our daughter has a cyclical pattern to her hospitalizations which occur every 2-4 months with the longest stretch being when she was in a residential facility for 7 months or living at home for 9 months. Currently she is in her 13th hospitalization in the last 3 1/2 years. How do we prevent this pattern? Also, how do we find her supportive housing so she can feel semi-independent?

Hi trust5
Im so sorry to here this. It is truly devastating for your family.
You say there is a pattern. Is there something that is a trigger for her that youve been able to identify?
Given the number of hospitalizations, is there some continuity of care both in facility and doctor?
Are you able to share a little more with us so we can target the conversation with you. Many parents hete have very similar experiences and will be able to relate to what yoi are going through.
I hope you have some strong suppprt and we are always here to talk to you.
Hugs to you

Hi Trust5
I would like to join

in welcoming you here and add how sorry I am to hear of what brought you here.
You say that you want to find supportive housing for your daughter so that she can feel semi-independent, may I ask, how old is your daughter? I live in the UK so I’m sorry to say that I can’t offer any help with finding the type of housing that you are looking for.
Merlot
asks you a really good question regarding the cyclical pattern and whether you have noticed any triggers that are causing this to happen. Thirteen hospitalisations in 3.5 years is a lot for you to deal with, which leads me to ask how you are, how are you coping with all of this?
