My 16 year old daughter recently came home from an adolescent psychiatric unit, this was her second hospitalization this year for suicidality. Her diagnosis is BPD and I am trying to learn how to support her and keep my family and finances intact. So far it is grueling and I am feeling rather grim. I am looking for information and support in learning how to navigate this new "normal". I have an 8 year old daughter as well and it is a struggle to keep everything afloat and keep everyone positive.
Thank you for listening.

Hi LoRo,

Welcome
I'm glad that you found our community

There is very helpful information on the right hand margin to start---->

How early did your daughter develop BPD like behaviors? It's good that you found help for het buy I realize that it can get expensive. The therapy for my son with ASD (not BPD) was expensive, but nowhere near that of an inpatient facility.

How of this affecting your 8 year old daughter?

I hope to hear  more and how best wee can support you.

I know the info in the right margin is a lot.  Please feel free to ask any and all questions.

Hello LoRo

I would like to join Turkish and wendydarling in welcoming you here.

I am so sorry to hear that your daughter has had two hospitalisations this year, what a worry for you and how difficult having an 8 year old too who’s needs also must be met. How are you coping? Do you have family and/or friends who you can rely on for support? x
