I would like support in dealing with my daughter who has BPD. She is 40 years old and getting worse. She stays in her room all the time. Does not bathe or clean her room. She cries a lot. She sees a psychiatrist for meds only.

Hi Tooker! I’m so sorry to hear what you’re dealing with. It’s a huge weight on your heart and mind. I imagine there’s some frustration and possibly anger at the situation too. I’ve gone through this a couple times with my dd. We know that medication alone is far from enough. The person needs to at least take some baby steps. Getting outside a little everyday and starting counseling. Is she open to any suggestion? How are you getting along emotionally? Glad you’re here!
