We are looking for a RTC or Therapeutic Boarding School in the Northeast for our DD, 17.     We were hoping for Wellspring, however this morning we were told Wellspring doesn't think she is a good fit... Frustrated/Unfortunate (click to insert in post)    Don't know why yet, hopefully will know more today

The school district has sent us a link to the Charlton School in New York. Does anyone here have any information or have sent their DD.  One concern from reading their website is they don't use DBT.

An all girl placement is what has been recommended - so if anyone has any other recommendations we could look into I would appreciate it.    Her Dad and I want to be within driving distance so we can fully participate in family therapy, etc...

Our objective is to better understand the struggles our child faces and to learn the skills to improve our relationship and provide a supportive environment and also improve on our own emotional responses, attitudes and effectiveness as a family leaders

That is unfortunate that they do not deem your daughter a good fit. Have you since heard more about why they come to this conclusion?

Since DBT is well-established in the treatment of BPD (symptoms), I understand why it would be a concern for you if they don't use DBT.
