Before you can make things better, you have to stop making them worse... Have you considered that being critical, judgmental, or invalidating toward the other parent, no matter what she or he just did will only make matters worse? Someone has to be do something. This means finding the motivation to stop making things worse, learning how to interrupt your own negative responses, body language, facial expressions, voice tone, and learning how to inhibit your urges to do things that you later realize are contributing to the tensions.

Just found this site, and I am in the process from getting divorced from a 30-year relationship with a person who has BPD.

You found the right place.

Share more about your situation as you feel comfortable.  There are a lot of people here-no doubt- who have similar
situations or who have dealt with something like what you are going through.
It helps me to read others' stories, and see what solutions they have found.

you may also want to share at what point did the relationship become lost to you, what triggered this.

There is a lot of experience here.
