I'm taking the first step

I'm taking the first step. I have an adult child with BPD, and I have been slowly driving myself crazy being pulled into her drama. After a week of suicide attempts, and her trying to be admitted to the hospital, she was sent home only for the drama to begin again. I have been trying to do this on my own, but I know I can't. What I've created is a co-dependent relationship that's seriously affecting my own mental health now too.

Our objective is to better understand the struggles our child faces and to learn the skills to improve our relationship and provide a supportive environment and also improve on our own emotional responses, attitudes and effectiveness as a family leaders

Congrats and welcome!   Thanks for making us a part of your network.  You are correct in that you are just as important as your BPD child.  As you are able, can you please tell us a little more- is your child a minor or an adult?  We are here for you.
