I am seeing information that says attachment disorder IS BPD ... .

I am also seeing info that says its a totally different disorder ... .

I have seen info that says attachment disorder is a subset of BPD ... .

Could anybody enlighten me ?

My woman says she has been diagnosed with attachment disorder ; and I have no experience with anything like that.

And the behavior she has exhibited is very similar to BPD to the point that in my researching the BEHAVIOR itself ... . the trail keeps coming back to BPD.

Yes, my dBPDh was first diagnosed with an attachment disorder.  This seems to be a popular diagnoses with some therapists right now.  Not sure how it plays into BPD but it is a common diagnoses for addicts, fearfully avoidant attachment disorder.

The ironic thing is that she isn't an addict ; or at least wasn't when diagnosed.

Now, she drinks almost every day.

Hello Artisan

Just a very quick one in amongst gardening Smiling (click to insert in post)

Google John Bowlby Attachment Theory

Emotional Dysregulation Disorder and Attachment Disorder are being used more here in the UK as an attempt to move away from the stigma and negative connotations that have attached themselves to a BPD diagnoses. I am only speaking from my personal experience here in the UK, both as a wife of someone with BPD and a career back in the day as a forensic nurse therapist.

I struggle with making a safe attachment myself, but I am not BPD. There really is a difference. Smiling (click to insert in post)
