All hell has broken loose over the last 6 months at home, with BPD behaviors rearing their ugly head in a nasty and amplified way, getting worse and worse.

We've finally identified WHY.

Tramadol.  dBPDw was prescribed Tramadol in April by her Rheumatologist, for treatment of fibromyalgia pain.

Since then, her behavior has been much more irrational and paranoid, and she has become progressively and notably worse in this respect. Obviously BPD "accumulates" history and issues build on one another.  All the while, she had no awareness that anything was "off", just that she "had more energy" and was "acting according to her feelings instead of keeping them in".  Everyone else in the household saw it as her growing progressively more crazy.  This essentially acted like a catalyst/amplifier for BPD behaviors.

If your partner is taking this stuff, I would recommend talking to a doctor about getting off it as it may be aggravating the situation and they can't even realize it.

Google tramadol and personality changes.  This is NOT uncommon.

Thank GOD things are finally notably improving, 9 days after she stopped taking it.  And now she can see her behavior was unacceptable and has even apologized for what she put me through.  Fortunately, the fact that a drug hugely contributed to it makes it easier for her ego to manage since it doesn't add to the shame pile.
