New day, same GF...

When will I ever learn? I know my GF doesn't do well with change, but she had a couple very good days, and this morning I hoped to surprise her. I always think a nice surprise is going to be a nice surprise, but it is often a huge let down.
We ran out of coffee yesterday, and she said she might like to go to town for coffee in the morning. When I woke up this morning, I though to myself, "I should run to the store, grab coffee and breakfast, and have it ready before she gets out of bed. She'd LOVE that!"
And... .now she's crying because I was "selfish" and went to town without her. The coffee is "gross" of course (it's the same brand we always buy) and the raspberry coffee cake I bought to go with it is "disgusting".
I can't win.

I (and I'm guessing most of us) can relate to that "I can't win" feeling all too well. It must be frustrating being told that the "something nice" that you did was spun into something selfish.
Was there more to the conversation though? Is it possible to glean what she was actually feeling at the time from it?
