I've been married 9 years. My wife was diagnosed with borderline disorder by two doctors. Our relationship has always been very troubled. For a long time I really felt suffocated, hated, guilty. But I've always loved her very much. I always devoted myself to her. However, recently I made perhaps the biggest mistake of my life: betrayal. In the false expectation of alleviating problems, in the illusion that I would feel what may have never been assured, I betrayed her once, and she found out. Now, I do not know what to do. Until then I knew how to act with her. I took care of her. And she trusted me. Now, everything seems to have plummeted. I do not know what to do to make her trust me again. I do not know if divorce is the solution now. Do not know. Need help.

Hi escansian,
Welcome and hello
How does she treat you now? What has changed?
Sometimes getting others to trust us again starts with forgiving ourselves, so that we can empathize with their pain without being distracted by our guilt.
I imagine forgiveness is something that you are working through right now. Do you have a therapist to talk to you? Friends who will listen?
