Diagnosed BPD adult child now diagnosed as dissociative identity disorder?

My 30 yo son checks all the boxes for a bpd diagnosis. His life has been in crisis mode.  Loss of income due to evolving circumstances. Thought he found a lifeline with a high achieving woman (whose family is well off) whom he wasn’t dating but became pregnant.

Impulsively moved in together with dreams of marriage and living happily ever after. Marriage was called off but they still live together.
Shortly afterwards he became suicidal and was involuntary committed.  They are far from being compatible. My poor grandson was born into this volatile environment. Paying for therapy for him and after just three sessions his therapist diagnosed him with DID (dissociative identity disorder). Had to look it up. Used to be called multiple personality disorder.

I have never seen anyone else post about the diagnosis of a loved one being switched to DID. If anyone else has experienced this please share.
