Anybody have experience on what it was like before getting into a relationship with somebody with BPD? My ex BPD moved quickly, so that phase went quickly. The 2nd female that has some parallels to her and BPD was different. Seemed like we hunt out forever and all indications were there for me.

I felt like Charlie Brown trying to kick a field goal with Lucy. It just seemed like she kept lining me up to take the kick, but when I did, she pulled the football away. That seemed like a pretty good description of how it was to pursue this 2nd female. She gave the signs she was interested and even asked my coworker about my dating life and if I date often and am in a good place to date. I asked her out and got a rejection that said she was in the middle of getting back with her ex. So, I said no problem.

I saw her 3 days later at trivia (which she never went until I said I go). One of her coworkers started the trivia thing and I had been going since before she was in the picture. This time, she was all in my business. Wanted my attention and was all in my personal space. Also, I watch games with my coworker/friend quite a bit (the one she asked about my dating life). The week after I asked her out and got shot down, she texted him again to watch the game. If he was in town, she would have been there with me. She invited herself to my birthday celebration with my friends/coworkers (that she didn't really know). She did not treat me like a friend or colleague. She was too much in my space. She always made an attempt to be alone with me, but yet I never dated her.

I don't know if she just got enjoyment out of seeing if she could entice me or what. But, I have never had a female make a point to stay behind to talk to me as much as she did. But, she was overly secretive with her coworkers that we hung out.

Most definitely relate to the metaphor. I often used to say to my BPDex that she was not Lucy and I was not Charlie Brown - because that's exactly what it felt like

Hey Jax, Why are you still trying to kick the football?  It's a Lose/Lose proposition, my friend, if you're going to attempt a kickoff with a pwBPD.  It looks like you are seeing a red flag  Red flag/bad  (click to insert in post) right?  If so, maybe it's time to fall back and regroup?
