I have rarely admitted, much less talked about being raised by a mother with BPD.  I married a man who "felt like home", who has a NPD.  My mother is deceased, I have been divorced for several years, although still in contact due to co-parenting a special needs child.  At the point in my life where I want to resolve some of the issues that I am still dealing with due to above, looking for someone who understands.  My experience is that you can explain the disorder, etc. but unless you have experienced it personally, it is almost impossible to understand the impact of it on a persons life.

I also saw your other post and the responses you've gotten there but I still wanted to welcome you to our online community

You are deling with a lot right now and I am glad you are reaching out here for support. You will definitely find a lot of people here who know how difficult it is when you're raised by a BPD parent. Many of our members have also experienced that in their adult lives they end up in relationships with people who are disordered. Not because they particularly liked the dysfunction, but more because like you said it "felt like home". In many ways dysfunction was the 'norm' for people who grew up like this.
