My mom has undiagnosed bod. I have learned how to depersonalize her sickness. I see that she has a trauma created brain disorder. I'm slowly learning to not be triggered by her but observe her instead. I want to be emotionally well and steady for my own kids.

Hi 23layla!

Welcome to our online family!

It sounds as if you are gaining a good handle on your uBPDm and learning about the disorder. How did you first learn about BPD?

It definitely is a challenge to not be triggered by a pwBPD. Are you especially able to do this by observation of her? What do you find to be most helpful to you as you are healing?

Excerpt
I want to be emotionally well and steady for my own kids.

I love that you want to do things differently for your children!  Doing the right thing (click to insert in post) The change begins with us, wanting to make the difference. My mom was also an uBPD, and I know when I got married that I determined in my heart that there were many things I wanted to do differently than my parents, especially from my mom. We are making that choice, and how much better our children will be, and how much less they will struggle with than we did.

Are you the only child in your family or do you have siblings as well? How do other family members do around your mom?
This is a great source for learning about BPD. Have you taken a look at the list to the right hand side of our board? Click on any sentence and a window will open up with more information. Where do you see yourself on the list at this point?
