Borderline Personality Disorder: A Guide for the Newly Diagnosed
Author: Alexander L. Chapman PhD RPsych, Kim L. Gratz PhD
Publisher: New Harbinger Publications; 1 edition (October 1, 2013)
Paperback: 160  pages
ISBN-10: 1608827062
ISBN-13: 978-1608827060

Most of the books on this board - and indeed, most of the books I've read - are for friends and family of BPD sufferers.  I also sometimes visit a forum for those who have BPD, and one of the folks there recommended this book

I am wondering if anyone has a BPD other who has read this, or what books are most useful to those who are diagnosed?  On the Parenting board, often the children do have a diagnosis, and the parents do a lot of reading after, but I'm wondering if the teens and young adults would benefit from this book themselves?

My daughter has not read this.

Other books? Following diagnosis the head of DBT team recommended my daughter read Mindfulness for Borderline Personality Disorder, Relieve your suffering through the core skills of Dialectical Behaviour therapy Blaise Aguirre.  She read it in one session and related saying, this is me. It was a relief that someone understood and that mindfulness, DBT and hope and help was out there. She grabbed every opportunity, needless to say Blaise is her hero and she promotes the book to the BPD community.
