I am nervous but very much looking forward to this.

I have never been before and dont know what to expect.

Is there any advice for me.  Or should I just go and find out.

Please remember therapists are only human and sometimes they're not what you were hoping for. If that's the case, don't be too disappointed, just keep looking til you find the one that fits.

Hey Foursome, I admire your courage to do something you have never done before.  In my view, there's no downside to therapy, because you can always discontinue the sessions if you find them unhelpful.  My only advice would be to think ahead about what you would like to discuss.  Therapy is "Your Time" and a chance to get things that are bothering you off your chest.  Good luck and keep us posted!

I really just wish I could go today.

Must be a lot of depressed or mental ppl in the world because i took me two weeks to find this one.

Everyone else was booked to the middle of the year.

Yes! That's the most important bit.

See if you think about/ approach problems and potential solutions similarly.

You'll be wading through some heavy territory with the person as therapy progresses, so you want to make sure it's someone you want along for that ride.

finding a good therapist can be a screening process. you dont always hit a home run on your first pick, but unlike say, the dating world, you probably wont have to go through a dozen or more to find "the one".

Thats what I am afraid of.  But at the same time its better than doing nothing.

They are so backed up with case load around here.

I believe my faith will lead me down the right path.

It went well I think.  Lasted about an hour and a half.  Most of this session was kind of just laying down the background.

Only thing that was a little disturbing is the therapist was super hot.  That was a little distracting.

Wants to see me every week for a while.  We talked alot about my drinking issue.  She wants to get that under control and I do as well.

How much are you drinking a day?  Have you had a physical/blood test? That can be a real motivator.
