Hello everyone,

I just joined the website. I was recently diagnosed with BPD via my therapist after searching for a little over a year as to what was really going on with me. I started researching originally for my Mom (to help solve her life crisis) - that's me the little helper (haha!). As I was reading I noticed a lot of me in the symptoms. I spoke to my therapist (because there are no psychiatrists anywhere near me) and voila a lifetime of why did I do that/saythat/think that went off in my head. Now that I am a mama to three fabulous children(most of the time) myself I see THE pattern starting with my oldest. I want the buck to stop here so to speak so I can be the mama I want and need to be. I look forward to meeting you all on this journey!

Hello changewithin

 Hi!

Welcome to the community, I'm glad you've joined us parents here to work through with your oldest child.  How old are they, what are you seeing, can you describe the 'pattern' you mention in your post.

Hi changewithin

Joining wendydarling in welcoming you to our online community

Being able to identify the signs and behavioral patterns is the first step in being able to change the dynamics in your family.

Could you tell us a bit more about the pattern you see in your oldest child?

You initially started researching to help your mother with her issues. How is the situation with your mom now?

Recently you yourself were diagnosed with BPD by your therapist. When you look at your life, what do you see as the main areas you are having difficulties on?

I am glad you are reaching out here for support and advice, great to see you making this effort to give your children the opportunity to grow up in a stable environment

Hello changewithin

I would like to join wendydarling and Kwamina in welcoming you here, you have definitely come to the right place.

What an amazing, loving parent you are and I have to say that I love the fact that you want the buck to stop with you, how wise you are to see that and to recognise also that you have to be the mother that your daughters need. Wow, you are halfway there already.

If you take a look to the right  Bullet: important point (click to insert in post)
you will see TOOLS and THE LESSONS, take a look when you have time and come back to let us know how you are getting on with them. What are your thoughts on that?

Wishing you success on your journey x
