Greetings,
As this board tends to be used for negative venting I am now going to post a continuation of my recent successes in detaching from my soon to be BPDex.
I discovered her cheating in May and that was the straw that broke the camel's back. After years of instability, unfaithfulness, anger, jealousy, and drug use I was done. What made it difficult for me is that we have a son and that she was that she was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, is an anorexic / bulimic, DCF involvement, suicidal ideation and is often prone to deep depression.
However, since we separated in May it has been very good. She has mostly stayed away, my son lives with me primarily and I don't restrict her access to him when she wants to see/is able to see him. I have signed my Divorce Complaint and submitted my financial paperwork and she should be served hopefully by the end of the month. I know that there is still a long road ahead, but life has been so much calmer, easier and actually cooperative since the separation.
I am bracing for the extinction burst, but I feel that I have the resources lined up to deal with that.
All in all things are looking up and I expect to be mostly clear very soon.

Great report, TD! Like you, my life became so much calmer and more manageable after separating from my BPDxW. I no longer came home after work with the expectation of a confrontation. I can't say that my Ex became any more cooperative but, like many w/BPD, she has a vindictive side and holds onto a grudge. Keep up the good work!

Hi Tired_Dad,
Congratulations on being committed to detaching and becoming healthier. Those steps and progress are hard won, I know from experience. I’m sure that other members of this community will be encouraged by your progress.
What advice would you give others who may be traveling a similar path?
Peace and blessings,
Mustbe
