Helplines in the UK/Ireland

Hi there folks,
its been a long time since I last posted I've been trying to raise the awareness in the UK/Ireland are there many here from UK/Ire, its states this site is registered with the NHS but I'm not able to find any links?
Alcoholics have the AA and their relatives have Al-anon we need something similar where we can find peer to peer support, I tried all kinds of helplines in the UK very few have info and those that do have nothing for the significant other (NON's) Lines that deal with domestic abuse are not educated either yet those in DENIAL must be causing a lot of abuse especially if they are low functioning

Hi Mitchell,

I’m from the UK, soon to be the K. I haven’t found anywhere that focuses specifically. Even the NHS doesn’t , they term it childhood trauma. Because we don’t have a big private health sector , we tend to generalise more in the UK. It’s more cost effective.

I did note there are more charities helping Mental health in Scotland, as they get more funding per head than England. Even a charity needs funding. But if you want to set something going,  happy to add moral support. The closest group I found was for child abuse,  but it focused on sexual abuse and mainly women attended. It has regular meetings, so there is interest.

NI PD network...BIGSPD one thing that bothers me is bpdfamily is registered with the NHS but I have yet to find a link?

I'm in the UK too. I haven't found much when I've looked online. It would be great if there were more support over here, both for BPD sufferers themselves and for their families!

It's such a tremendous struggle and it feels as if it's all happening in secret, behind closed doors, as most people don't know a thing about it. My only support from others who know the illness, and the challenges it brings to those closest to sufferers, has been on this website.
