It’s been a long time since I posted here.  I’m grateful to say I’ve come through the fire, and am now working on a project that is going to reach a lot of people.

The project is related to music. There are plenty of songs out there about physical domestic violence.  What I am looking for are  songs  that have to do with our special brand of DV;  psychological abuse/crazy games.

Googling “songs about gaslighting“ etc. has only gotten me so far.  Please reply if you know of/can find any songs that remind you of your relationship with your BP/NP. ( it’s fine if physical violence is discussed as well, as long as the psychological aspects are prominent).

The song “she used to be mine“ is the impetus for the project, as my most vivid memory is the numbness and nothingness I felt after getting out of the relationship-I didn’t know who I was anymore. That song will be the middle “chapter“ of the story. I am looking for the “before“ and “after“ songs,  but the “before“ songs are proving harder to find (so I welcome any song ideas which reflect the healing process as well.  Bonus points for songs involving our confusion, gaslighting,  or love bombing.

I appreciate any help I can get, TIA!

Resilience is accepting your new reality, even if it's less good than the one you had before. You can fight it, you can do nothing but scream about what you've lost, or you can accept that and try to put together something that's good.

Precious Illusions by Alanis Morrisette is an interesting one; although the lyrics are more applicable to codependency but still relevant, I suppose

I guess it depends on how one interprets the song, but here goes:

"Most Likely You'll Go Your Way and I'll Go Mine," by Bob Dylan
