Hi Everyone,
I am posting a link to "radical acceptance article.  I am doing this for me ,too.  As Justhere states in the posts within the article :
1. Safety  first.  I would also like to add Safety and Life Preservation is first.
2. Then radical acceptance.

I'm not on step 2 yet but working towards it. I'm still roiling through the 5 stages of grief , even though my adult son is still alive.  Maybe it helps to look at ourselves here as warriors and having awareness enough to try to stop being sucked up into generational mental illness that runs in families. Or at least question it, not go with the status quo .  Maybe we won't even see change in our lifetime, but you never know who all is watching our actions in the next generations:  The grandkid who see grandma/ pa not putting up with mess any more  and remembering this when they have their own kids... you never know. I know this is hallow optimism but I need to hold onto something for today.
Here is the link.

Our objective is to better understand the struggles our child faces and to learn the skills to improve our relationship and provide a supportive environment and also improve on our own emotional responses, attitudes and effectiveness as a family leaders
