Hi 3rs,

Welcome

The recent Dx must seem like an answer, and it may help get him proper treatment which is good after what I imagine was a decade of striggling for answers.

How old is your son, and is he living with you? Can you share your current struggles?  Members here are very supportive and can help support and guide you through this.

Hello!
Our son is 25. He attempted self harm and suicide last fall while living with his girlfriend. He didn’t receive the proper treatment or medication at the time. He tried to function and go back to work. It wasn’t possible without anger, anxiety and crying. We found out he was living in his car over the -19 temperatures. At Christmas, we got him to stay home with us. We’ve been finally working with a psychiatrist who diagnosed him with BPD and switched medication. Currently, he just got a nurse practitioner and social worker who understand the BPD. I
I’m happy to have found this BPD family support group to know, learn and that other families and children have similar struggles.
