Have had a year long battle with BPDw about going to a T. She does not trust them (long story but understandable why) and has flat refused to go.

She hit rock bottom this week with extreme depression, hopelessness, and core shame issues, resulting in P putting her on Paxil yesterday. This morning she was crying and had to call off work again. I figured this has gone on long enough. Told her either call today to get an appointment with a T or I will physically place her in the truck and drop her at the hospital in-patient psych clinic on my way to see a divorce attorney.

She knows I don't make empty threats, so she called and has an appointment at 2:30 today. She was excited that the T they hooked her up with is wife of our son's autism specialist. We really like like him, so W is more comfortable about going. Not exactly a coincidence; I called them first and requested they refer W to her when she calls.

W thanked me for pushing her into it and is looking forward to going. Praying she likes this T and gets the help she needs.

Sounds like she was ready for it but not wanting to take responsibility for the decision and falling back on old familiar excuses. It is a scary task for them

Nice work.

Please post update tonight.  Hoping you can stick with weekly (or more) visits for a while.

She came home and thanked me for making her go. For the first time, she seems to like this T. We will have to see where it goes from here.

She told me T suggested m/c for us, but does not want to do it because I sit there and say nothing while she gets upset and cries. It is true I don't talk much when we have gone to m/c because everything I say just sets her off. I am hoping the T can get her to a point emotionally where we can have productive m/c sessions where she does not get super defensive.

Sounds like she was ready for it but not wanting to take responsibility for the decision and falling back on old familiar excuses. It is a scary task for them

Yep. She promised to do this last week and found every excuse in the book not to follow through.

Wow, Cole, that's a bold move... .glad to hear it's working out well so far.  :)o keep us posted!   Doing the right thing (click to insert in post)

Came to me while watching one of my favorite movies, McLintock. Seriously.
