I have theory, let me know what you think... .

Leading up to the breakup my ex was seemingly getting better in some ways while worse in others.

The moods weren't as drastic, she was happier, more loving and since a friend was staying at our house for a few months she didn't rage & explode because it's not often she ever does that in front of others.

While on the other hand she created elaborate stories accusing me of having sex with a vegetarian because a salad was missing from the refrigerator or the DVD's were moved so I must have been having sex with a girl who stole them or her best friend and I were plotting to steal her cigarettes.

So my theory is that the emotion and anxiety is always there and will present itself in different ways if it can't in others.

I'm thinking since I was immediately replaced she hasn't dealt with the pain, emotion and anxiety, and is a ticking time bomb just waiting to go off.

I have a theory but a lot of people wont like it. When a pwBPD starts being nice again then they are probably getting supply from somewhere else.

Bingo.  I won't say the last few months were the best of the relationship, but they were certainly the most peaceful.

I have thought this, I'm pretty sure of a time she cheated on me, and the day after she was all sweetness and sunshine.

What I found is that I was devalued painted black and pretty  much ignored. Then a kind of peace descended. Then I was dumped. It seems that the peace was due to the fact she had found someone else.

im not saying it is the same in your case only what happened in mine.

I think what he means by this is that at this point they are already involved with a possible replacement.

Under my circumstances i wouldnt say she was getting nicer, but i just noticed a change in how she acted around the time she started courting her friend's husband as a potential replacement. The rages and everything were still there but something just seemed off to me. In retrospect that was it.

That makes scene... .I knew the replacement must have been lined up prior because she started seeing him the following day after the breakup.
