Well, it's been an interesting month indeed. We're in the midst of complete turmoil with the renovations to our house. There have been times when the stress level was high, but we made it without major incidents (no rages). I've been successful in setting some boundaries and making time to recharge my batteries. I see subtle changes happening~~I'm not as reactive to button pushing and less likely to engage in pointless circular arguments. I feel better and he's much calmer.
I'm well aware that things could turn ugly at any time, but I'm feeling stronger and more able to distance myself when and if it is necessary. I know the road ahead of me is uncertain, but that's part of life's challenges on a good day anyway. I'm glad I have a place to vent my frustrations and gain insight as to how I can handle adversity without losing myself again. This forum has become invaluable to me.
Valentine's day, my uBPDbf asked me to be his wife and I accepted his proposal.

Congratulations!
So many of the folks here were already long married before realizing their loved one had BPD. I often wonder how many would have made that commitment had they known beforehand.
It's nice to know I'm not the only one here who would marry their SO even knowing all the implications.
I wish you the very best of luck and look forward to hearing more -hopefully in Steph's Success Stories thread!

Congratulations! You sound strong too! We just have to be strong and know that like you said, it can always get ugly! But, by knowing what we've learned we can always make things better by not making them worse Best of everything! CiF

Congratulations Rockylove!
It is not easy being married to a uBPD, but having the tools here for our disposal is helpful.

Thank you all so much... . I know that I'll continue to need all the support and space to vent and I'm grateful for this forum to have both! I'm glad to be going into this marriage with an open mind and heart knowing full well the challenges that lie ahead. Nothing worthwhile is ever easy and I feel this man is really worthwhile (even if he doesn't always agree )
