You need to get yourself out there.  I've been trying to do this more often.  Every time someone asked me to go somewhere with them, meet them somewhere, or suggest something that I really didn't want to do - I did it anyways.

Keep you mind constantly occupied with other things and get active.

A new partner can definitely kill old feelings for the ex.   But make sure you are absolutely ready to date.  This can be up to a year or more... .  you'll know when you are ready to commit.  I'm a year into separation and I haven't had much desire to even go on dates.  Just don't be a like a BPD that jumps on the first thing that comes into focus! Laugh out loud (click to insert in post).

No, I was being serious. I literally bought a new puppy since she took the one we'd gotten together. I'm nowhere remotely near ready for a relationship 5 weeks out... .

A got a puppy when mine left. Best thing I've done for myself in a long time. I love my pooch. It's soo nice now. I come home from work and nobody hates me. My sweet dog greets me at the door wagging her tail. Sure makes me smile.

I agree with getting a puppy.  It does help your heart to be loved by a sweet dog.  Gets you out of the house.  Lots of laughing and smiles.  :)ogs are fantastic.  Cats are great, too.
