Had an interesting twist this week.

Most "NON" folks are used to what we tend to consider the constant lying. Of course from the other/ BPD-side the stories seem to justified because that was how things were felt, or if directly asked, "that never happened" or "I never said that." Ok. Whatever.

Guess I mentioned that it had gotten so thick with Mrs. Somewhere on return from rehab, my daughter and I were calling it "100 Lies in 100 Days."

Some of the Lies/Stories that I know and ask lightly about, and it usually comes back like there was some misunderstanding, or things she did not know, so she just made them up. Again, OK, whatever. But this week it got weirder.

A few weeks ago, Mrs. Somewhere started working at a rehab center, herself. Long-termers -- Addictions, Alcohol, Dual-Diagnosis and . . . . even some Borderlines. Funny part on that, she says she not really care to deal with them . . . rotfl . . . Smiling (click to insert in post)

But back to the household . . . to make sure our daughter could always get in the house, when she was working, Mrs. Somewhere had gotten a container for an extra key, placed in the garden area, told us about it, and made sure our daughter knew where it was and how to use it. All good. But then a week ago, our daughter mentioned the key and Mrs. was all confused about the key, who put it there, and was surprised.

Daughter and I were talking about it yesterday, and our daughter had noticed that Mrs. Somewhere was in different "voices," (our code for persona switches) the day Mrs. Somewhere put the key out and day she could not remember doing so.

This seems like the persona thing is almost Multiples, or Full Dissociation.

Does one persona really not know what the other(s) have done or said?

I am 100% not qualified to diagnose anything so take my words with a grain (pile?) of salt... .   Are you sure she doesn't have a comorbid disorder? Some sort of true dissociative disorder besides the BPD? I know that in certain disorders that is indeed how it works - the personalities may not be aware of each other or of the others' actions.

Just another tidbit from my own experience... .   My H dissociates too. He doesn't not have a true dissociative disorder according to his P, just the BPD. He often does not remember events or conversations as between different states. The key situation you describe is pretty extreme though - I think my H would remember that. He might not remember all the details, but he wouldn't be shocked or confused by it either. Plus, he usually remembers at least some of the event/convo once he is reminded (details often need to be repeated).
