For the last few weeks to a month, my dBPDh has been struggling with a change in medication, and major back pain.

Yesterday, I had to take another day off work to take him to the doctor's office for his back and check on his medications.

But, the most memorable moment was when he sat next to me in the living room, hugged me and thanked me for being there for him through thick and thin, for keeping showing him what is true love and to be the best thing in his world, for being the best thing he's ever had in his life. Then he kissed my forehead and went back to his TV show. I almost cried just because I was overwhelmed with happiness. I haven't stopped smiling since.

There is a hope of living moments like this, to get the Thank You we all deserve... . it can happen and believe me it feels amazing.

ItS these moments that we need to remember this is why we stay... .

Like with my husband even though he has his bad days i know he loves me due to telling me.

or like you seeing a thankyou or giving me a hug. these are the reason why many of us stay and work on it... .   because deep down they are great people .   They just have a personality disorder but we married them for better or worse.  Doing the right thing (click to insert in post)

Wow that's sweet, and I suppose this helps you keep going because your efforts are acknowledged!

I hope one day my H will say something like this to me, but up till now the closest thing he's said to me is: "I'm here you you through thick and thin, while you're going to desert me if anything goes wrong with me.  I deserve better."

Chosen,

it took over 5 years for me to get such a great moment. We have to be patient and it will, most likely, come.

I try to focus on all the little things he does or say, it can be as simple as washing the dishes or making sure to bring you a water bottle when he picks you up after work, it's the little things that bring on the big things after allot of therapy and getting the medication under control.

I know that I need to cherish these moments to give me strength when he's not doing so well. That's how I get through it.
