Since my wife had her affair. I started to do a lot of research and it's amazing how many of these affect her and have similar traits.  So are these related?  BPD, Post tramatic stress disorder, adult children of alcoholics, OCD, anerexia traits and lately she almost seems to be Bi-polar?  She faced sexual abuse, physical abuse, mental abuse, verbal abuse - so is it a perfect storm that has brewing in her all these years and then she can't take it anymore - the false sence of self, the mask she wears, the love she doesn't feel she deserves, etc and then the damn breaks and all hell breaks lose and you see who they have become and think what the hell happened? Where did this storm come from?

I could say similar. My BPD ex girlfriend was married for 8 years before we met & separated as we did meet. No give aways in her marriage or the long term relationship she had before. Her friends, family etc all thought her marriage was fine. She wasn't happy so she left... .

It seems on the outside, that her own divorce has triggered something which lay dormant since her father walked out when she was aged five!

Since her separation & divorce she's basically become the BPD 'poster girl' with exception of harming herself!

Utterly maddening.

Your question is very difficult to answer. It would be nice if we could clearly classify all things and specially mental disorders. In real life it is often a mix from different traits, from culture, upbringing, genetics... .

What about you? How are you doing?
