I've been here since around March 2011. That's when I was first clued into BPD. I struggled with the shock and major depression for a while. Throw in type 1 diabetes and a very stressful job, and I don't think that helped any with my recovery. I drop in to chime in every now and then and to lend an ear or a shoulder. It can be such a shocking and surreal experience to explain to anyone who hasn't been there. If it wasn't for these support boards, I'm sure I would have struggled even more. The journey is different for each of us. Hopefully you can get out of the FOG and focus on what led you to be attracted to the relationship dynamic and start healing and taking care of yourself sooner rather than later. Before the r/s with the pwBPD I would've thought I had an ok though not awesome childhood. Little did I know how some things still affected me in adulthood. As adults the good news is we can build a much happier and healthier future.

Maybe a year and a half but it's been just over 2 years since my BPDexwife left us. I find solace in this forum, like a brotherhood. I'm way better, adjusting to the single parent life pretty well. I have my self respect and inner strength back but I don't take that for granted and I know how fragile that can be.

Joined about a year ago, and was on pretty heavily for about a month and a half. The site and the members were very helpful in educating me on the disorder, providing me with an outlet for my feelings, which helped me process my emotions, and in just being a source of moral support.
Then I agreed to give it another go... . and here I am again.

I've only been on about a month. And what a month it's been. It wasn't until I came to this board that I even knew about BPD, let alone that my H is an UpwBPD. It has really helped me to understand what has actually happened and with that I am accepting. I couldn't understand what, why, how any of it. Now I know that the reason why my H was able to lie, betray, cheat, and blame is because he is sick. No normal person would do all he has done to someone who who loved them he supposedly loved. Now it is all starting to make sense, though it is still crazy!
And what choice do I have but to accept it. And learning about LC has helped so much too. Still make mistakes and still learning but keep trying. Going through divorce process and reading Splitting now too. Using all the resources out there and with the support of those who love me, I will be okay!

I've been here since December 2012. I went through a roller coaster of emotions with these boards since then. Went from being spooked after making my first post, to feeling happy helping others, grateful I found this place, to a period of feeling addicted with coming on here, to feeling angry that I needed to come here, to hurt because I didn't always find the answers I was looking for. In reality, I was trying to make peace within myself after learning about BPD in December.
I am at a point (for now anyways) that I sign on every few days spending a couple minutes browsing through the new posts. Sometimes reading the subject is enough to remind me that you are all out there somewhere in this world. I instantly feel better.

Found this place shortly after my break up six seven months ago. It's been enormously helpful. I really felt like the depth of my grief over the end of this relationship, my inability to cope with it, well I felt like I was nuts. That there was something seriously wrong with me because I can't seem to get a grip. It is so helpful to know other people feel the same way. Makes me feel less crazy. Although sometimes I think I need to stop. That it's a way of "hanging on" to this rs that needs to be over. I would like to give back though. After I get better. (Hoping.) People who have been through this have been so generous with their time and advice. I'd like to someday be in a position to help people who are still in the horrifically painful place.

I have lurked on here for many months before posting. It is the only place I have that I could find comfort in because explaining any of this stuff to even my closest of friends resulted in them no longer wanting to hear it or to tell me the most invalidating of lines "Move on". So I stopped telling them and read hundreds and hundreds of posts on here. I could have written most of them myself, that is how much I could relate to dealing with the aftermath that being with someone with a mental illness such as BPD.
I still tumble from space to Earth. :'(

Found the site last August when she took off on her 1st relationship after we got together. Was a great help but we recycled 3 months later& I made the mistake of forgetting about using the site & seemed to forget what i was dealing with & believed I could handle it (dumb I know).
We split for final time 6 weeks ago & I've been active on the site since then.
This site, the lessons & the community of people pulling together to help & comfort each other here has been my lifeline. I thank the gods for all those who contribute to this being such a reassuring, educational & sociable friendly forum.
