My ex would always love to pretend she was something else. Really indicative of the condition, don't you think? Only felt comfortable being someone other than herself.

Mine in both rounds, in early devaluation, would call my phone and pretend she was another woman that didn't know me and try and flirt with me. Sounds bizarre. I know. And I would not play along and she would get angry. Instead of trying to understand why I was not playing along to her fantasy. When she did it in round 2, it was another sign that what I was experiencing was very real. All part of her disorder. There was so many times I wish I could have somehow reached inside her mind, to the part where all of this distortion was originating from, and repair it, correct/align the lens she was viewing me through. Anything to make the distortions stop. Futile thinking on my part. It was hopeless. There was no reaching her after she was triggered. Sorry for my rambling.

My borderline ex would go to Halloween parties always as slutty something, nurse, librarian, schoolgirl, whatever, which was just an excuse to show off her fake double D's and use them as a man magnet, a trick that looked like a treat.  I know this because she showed me pictures, unsolicited by me, but she needed to show me how seductive and attractive she was, and what unlucky soul she had slayed for the evening.  Why do we put up with that crap?

But yes, she didn't like herself at all, but her chosen method on Halloween was to seduce, using the dude for validation, and then escape herself in physical bliss.  She wore her 'flirtations, vivacious, peppy, fun' costume every day, to the point where all I saw in the end were the frayed edges.

Interesting yes, my uBPDx used to tell me he was bob marley reincarnate, hed quote rastafarian scripture, smoke s*** loads of weed, pretend he was this peace loving deciple of jah, I laugh just thinking about it,  also he went through a period of wanting me to call him Luther, after Martin Luther king, Martin was his first name, I refused, he of course got angry, I never did, I thought it was bizzare, he always wanted to be someone other than himself, I never realised till I came to BPDfam how deeply sad that is.

Sheesh, my exBPD didn't really love Halloween, but very early on in the relationship she loved going and getting new costumes to dress up in as an added bonus for her sexual escapades with me, she really had to set the hook in me.    She went out and got a nurse and maid costume after I had only been seeing her a few months... .Laugh out loud (click to insert in post).   Add that to the list of red flags!     Endless, meaningless sex and a basketfull of compliments... .thats ALL they have to offer, once thats gone you can phone it in.

Peace

Haha!

Totally. Last work party she went as a pregnant disaster, smeared lipstick, cocktail. She loved it.

Interesting thing about her is that she would talk badly about slutty costumes, even as she was promiscuous with all of her flirting. It was a very interesting love-hate relationship with herself. Wouldn't be suprised if it could be related to possible sexual abuse, but who knows.
