Isn't it so frustrating that for the most part, no one even knows about BPD, including me until only recently. No one can relate, so thank you for this site. For years I tried to figure out what was going on in my marriage - why was he so angry? It's no wonder so many stay - the crazy cycles - the confusing good person/bad person. The high functioning like mine probably have qualities that many normals do not. They are so good at showing you they are exceptional in so many ways yet they are so deficient at times. It keeps us spinning so we stay. So when you ask yourself, why am I still here? There's a pretty good answer.
I'm also annoyed with all the therapists who won't acknowledge this disorder or can't advise deal. They have no idea what it's like to be in a relationship with a BPD and I find them a waste of time and money.

Greetings.
I think a lot of counselors simply don't want to deal with difficult personality disorders, when simple family counseling and individual counseling (for reasonably healthy people) is so much more direct and straightforward. I read somewhere that even "Ts" can end up in counseling when working with people with personality disorders, to stay grounded themselves.
My "T" was aware of my "ex" disorder (we were both going to see her for a while), but would have sent her elsewhere for treatment had she stayed and considered serious help.
Peace
