Bpd = The One Ring. Victim = Gollum

I found someone make this reference on another site and I loved it.
Before coming into contact with the BPD we are the relatively well adjusted and happy smeagol. But once we come into contact with BPD (the ring of power) it slowly starts to corrupt us and turn us into something almost as evil and twisted as it itself is.
I know I started to resemble Gollum during push/pull, I lost a lot of weight to the point of being almost malnourished, I had deep sunken eyes from lack of sleep, I became obsessed with getting back the "precious" BPD which was the very thing that tore me apart.
I started to become very, very unwell.
Now I almost feel like how frodo feels at the end of the book, the journey is over. I'm back in hobbiton and all is well around me, but somehow the world seems different. Boring. Safe
What an experience we have all been through.

What a great metaphor! So accurate!
I became a gollum too, obsessing over the "ring".
I became nasty too, when he raged... .In the end I raged back!
My morals and values faded and I let my exBPD affect me like the ring did smeagol!
Great post Inferno! That exactly what happened!
I am so glad to be back in "the shire"! And tbh, I can handle safe and boring, i actually told my exBPD that all the time! ":)amn I just want a boring steady life!"
