After all of the turmoil in my personal life I did what I think most of us on here do and reevaluated my life and upbringing.

My mother is a classic histrionic,  and treated myself and my father badly.  Sadly I grew up normalizing this,  but now I can see how bad this has been on my life and my ability to respect myself.

I find I have a great deal of resentment toward her,  I still love her but I don't particularly want her in my life anymore.

Is this wrong of me?

She has never taken an interest in me before,  but now I am detaching she is suddenly "worried" about me.

I don't know how to handle this.
