I have a BPD wife who cheated on me a couple time last year out of the blue. She threatened to take our 4 and 2 year old daughters and leave. We're trying to repair the marriage. Things are still rocky, but getting better day by day. I'll forever be cautious after the number of things done behind my back.

Not all countries have signed onto the Hague Convention and of those that did, their level of participation, assistance and cooperation can vary.  I had heard that the country they fled to is not that great at aiding the retrieval of abducted children.  I'm glad this time it worked, though a decade passed.

I think when someone is so disordered that they make a threat, you have to take that threat seriously.  However, if you are working things out, maybe you can stay until at least the daughters are old enough to understand that it would be wrong for her to kindap you.
