I want the best for this person and after much reading, I feel like BPD makes all the sense in the world... .after 5 years of the constant Jekyll and Hyde, the fear of me doing stuff on my own, the destructive things and always feeling like I was being manipulated even when the facts were black and white, I had to call it quits!

I want more for him out of life and want to help him break through!

i'm so sorry for your experience. while nobody here can give any diagnosis, the behaviors you describe are characteristic of BPD, and very difficult to sustain. you've come to the right place! we have a wealth of resources and an active community of members here who have seen BPD from every angle and will be ready to listen and to support.

can you tell a little more? how long were you and your SO together? you've posted this on the Undecided board. do you still feel engaged in the r/s to some extent? please keep posting Nealbert67!
