Use intimacy different?
«

My uBPDbf spent the day at the ER with his mom, for his dad for 8hours yesterday. He was home about and hour and then we went to bed. While in bed, he was blaming himself for his dad being sick (which it's not my bf's fault) then he wanted to be intimate. Is this common for BPD's?
When I'm upset/stressed (like a parent sick and being in ER) the last thing I want to do is that. Maybe that is just a personal choice, but I wasn't sure.

I think that this can happen with non-disordered people too. When people are struggling and going through a tough time, many times they want to feel close to someone else or reassured. For some people, being intimate is a way to connect with their partner and feel close and validated.

Men can view intimacy (read: sex) as a relief from stress. This is not exclusive to BPD.

I've found myself in the same situation before. Sex was exactly what I needed. I needed to feel good. The hospital is such a difficult place.
