Well that explains a lot.

So I was having a bad night tonight and I made the mistake of looking up my exes profile. First time I have done it since we last spoke.
It appears she entered in a new relationship 5 days after she told me we shouldn't talk anymore. She was really cheerful when she called me, which upset me a bit since she knew it would hurt me (again).
Everything makes sense now. She was acting so nice (and flirty) to me up until a point and then she turned cold, right when school started back. The guy she's with is in her debate club, so everything lines up perfectly.
"I'm not afraid to be alone" was what she told me the day before we went nc. I was so confused to why she would be alone when she would do everything she could in the past to be with someone.
I was just being used as a pitstop between relationships. Once she finds someone I am not worthy enough to talk to her again. This is the third time this has happened.
It doesn't hurt like it has in the past (still does though), but does she have any respect for me?
The real question is why can I just not delete her from my life? If anybody else treated me like this, I would've cut her off a week into dating. All I have to do is forget her and all this pain stops, why is the healing process so slow?
