My mother who is dying of leukemia told me my sister came to the hospital last night and asked her for $11,000,00. It is hard enough to deal with the current situation, mom goes home tomorrow and will be on hospice. It is just unfathomable that we have to deal with my sister's selfishness and drama at this time, especially my mom. Remembering that my sister is sick is almost impossible. I feel that there is true evil and monsters in this world, and she is one of them. I don't want my mom to die, but when she does my nightmare with my sister will be over. My sister's only interest is when my mom will die (she was FURIOUS when she went to the hospital, because she says she's dying anyway) and how much money she can get. I'm sickened, disgusted and so, so angry. I want to make the short time we have left with my mom as peaceful, comforting as possible for her, but my sister isn't going to allow it. My mom's heart is breaking because of it, and this is the LAST thing she should have to deal with as she's dying. There is no reasoning with my sister, she has her own agenda and no one else's matters. How can I protect my mom from her?

When your mom is in hospice there will be a social worker and most likely a nurse assigned. Tell them, they will protect your mom. They are used to end of life family drama and will not tolerate mistreatment of their clients.

You may need to state your sister is not to be alone with your mom.

Protect your mom, even if you need to report your sister for elder abuse!
