After 4 + months of no contact from my diagnosed BPD ex girlfriend, and about 1 really hard month of me not reaching out, she finally contacted me! I'm crushed that she only reached out to me to ask for $1,000 that she believes I owe her. That's all I'm good enough to contact about after everything?

Nah, that's not why she reached out to you. But you need to play if off and only talk about the money she thinks you owe. She is testing you, see if she still has control.

That will probably be the only reason my ex contacts me, because she needs something from me.  She would contact her ex when she needed something from him.  Funny how that works.  She didn't have a problem contacting him while she was dating me but she has completely deleted me from her life and doesn't want me to call/text because she claims to be in a new relationship.  Guess I don't have anything she needs.

JT426, I don't know what your aim is with your ex but what I've done with mine when she calls is cut her off and ask what she wants. It knocks the wind out of her every time. As in "What do you want? There must be something you need. You wouldn't be calling me otherwise. Is it money? Are you in trouble? Advice? Friendship? Wanna get back together? None of it is possible. Was there anything else? No? OK, Bye!" *click*

You may not be ready for that or it may not be what you want at all. I'm childish enough to want to get even with my ex. I know,  . A more important reason though is to reject her from my life completely but perhaps most important of all is that I still feel a pull when I hear her voice so being brief and hostile keeps me out of her kill zone.
