My wife had her psych appointment today. We were lucky to see a very lovely lady who listened to both of us and asked a lot of questions. She agrees it is BPD and has prescribed quetiapine. Has anyone else had a significant other on this?

Wundress,

I haven't heard of the drug unfortunately. But when mine was on "Serdep", she didn't rage for 12 months, so I do believe in drugs to maintain the symptoms.

Your post is quite rare for these parts. Diagnoses are not frequent and neither is willingness to accept them. How did your wife respond to this?

Hi

We were very lucky with the psych we saw. They are usually rubbish around by us. Her style was completely refreshing.

My wife didn't want to hear the diagnosis so she gave permission to the psych for us to have an informal chat. That's when the psych told me she agreed with me that she fits BPD symptoms and she will write to our gp to say the same.

Afterwards I told my wife what was said and she accepts the diagnosis and will work with it. She is even excited to get her new meds!

I'm so happy for you. There is usually alot of resistance to any diagnosis. It sounds like there is a positive road ahead
