Being assaulted
«
on:

My BPD sis is 8 years my senior. I've had more than my share of assaults and wonder if BPD is involved.
I was raped at 5, a drunk ran me off the road and tried to assault me when I was 16 but strangers intercede. My doc sexually assaulted me. Am I doing something wrong?

I think that when we are raised with a person with a PD we may be more vulnerable to abuse due to our not seeing red flags. But I don't believe you are doing anything wrong.

Hi Coral
I am very sorry you had these horrible and traumatic experiences. It really is awful that this happened to you. Have you had support to help you deal with and process these specific traumas?
I agree with
Deb
and also don't believe you are doing anything wrong. Rape is a crime, raping a child only adds to that crime, driving while drunk is a crime, driving someone off the road is a crime, attempted assault is a crime and sexual assault by a doctor is a crime and a serious violation of the trust between doctors and patients. The people who did these things to you are criminals and they are the ones who did something wrong. Wrong was done unto you by them.

Thank you both. I took my BPD sister's horrendous actions in stride for years, years. Years. It wasn't until extensive therapy broke through my psychic blindness and the horrors of what she's done. Maybe it's the time of year that's causing my introspection.

The holidays are tough for many of our members so this could indeed very well be the cause of your introspection.
