Thinking of my ex today because of David Bowie.  We're both big fans.  Fighting the urge to break two months NC to share some memories.  Arggh.  The death of a celebrity has the power to knock me right off course.   Smiling (click to insert in post) Haven't contacted him yet, think I can manage not to, don't know what I will do if he contacts me.

My ex wrote me once that the song Heroes is actually about him and me.  "Listen to it!  It's us, it's our story!" he wrote.  And then told me again that he loves me more than he could possibly put into words.  If you listen to the lyrics, it could be the BPD anthem: "And I, I will be King/ And you, you will be Queen... .and nothing will keep us together... .but we can be heroes, just for one day."  The song will always make me hurt for my ex.

I guess when anyone dies, you realize how much time has passed - and that you can't go back. "So I turned myself to face me... .turn and face the strange changes."

(Bye David.)

Hey waking-

The death of a celebrity has the power to knock me right off course.   Smiling (click to insert in post)

So how can you use that?  Maybe it's another piece of your relationship that has ended, one less tether, as you slowly shift your focus from the past to the future?  And fortunately most of what we knew about Bowie is recorded, he left a legacy, something we can keep yes?

There you go, RIP David, and maybe Changes can be your new tune?  Somehow sounds appropriate.  Take care of you!

Is this the BPD blame song, I got this once too:))

"and you, you can be mean, and I'll drink all the time, because we are lovers." And I'm the mean one of course:)) He enjoyed that bit a lot.

Rest in Peace, David.

I think it's good to have song memories, they make certain humane feelings come to the surface. We did everything in our power to enjoy these together with them. It wasn't enough. At least, the songs are there.

Oh... .the days of me smothering her with David Bowie! When I heard the news last night I changed my profile picture to me standing in front of the Bowie art exhibit. She took that picture. When I woke up, she had changed HER picture to the one I took of her in front of it. Uh oh... .

It's nice we are remembering David Bowie here as well... .His music was a big part of my past. My first bf in high school, my sister and her best friend and I were all big fans... .Went to the "Let's Dance" concert all 3 nights he was in town. I know what you mean about songs reminding you of them... .allot of songs remind me of mine... .luckily not any David Bowie songs. Very sorry to have lost such a wonderful artist.

David Bowie was a massive part of my life. I collected Vinyl from the age of 17 and anyone who knows me knows all about my David bowie collection. When I was younger I followed around him the country going to concerts, I went to Record Fairs and collected memorabilia in a very big way.

My uBPD ex constantly berated me for it, said it was a waste of time and I should just chuck the lot in the skip as it was bits of plastic. When we moved in together the collection came with me, and was stored in locked record boxes, and various storage containers out of her reach.

I am sure on hearing the news of his passing, me and my collection came into her thoughts somewhere along the line.

I have been NC for 15 months now, and I intend to keep it that way

Thank you, everybody.  I didn't contact my ex.  I talked with you instead!  Smiling (click to insert in post)  This has been a big help, and its nice to share our thoughts on David Bowie too.  He will never be forgotten, may he rest in peace.  Take care, all.
