Movie - "Night Owls"... Very familiar

[Before you can make things better, you have to stop making them worse...]

Netflix has a movie called "Night Owls" about a guy that hooks up with his bosses stalker unknowingly. The woman takes a bottle of Xanex and they end up fighting all night... , it's horrible, but it seems like a typical evening with a pwBPD. The thing is, I know that someone on Xanex wouldn't even be able to function if they took that many pills- from experience. The whole time I'm sitting here thinking the guy should just leave... , in the movie he's trying to save his job by saving her... .I'm sure someone involved in the movie knows PD's by the language used and things she does. I'm wondering who would watch this type of movie other than someone who has been through it. Maybe someone else would see it as a drunken evening. I see it differently. This movie reminds me of allot of our experiences. I think they are Making this a modern day love story- not good. Is this the new normal?

Ugh oh dear. I hope not. Then I will experience going back to serials from the 1950s. There's a famous actress (in my small town) doing a full series centring around treating psychiatric patients. I'm somewhat hoping that I'm just noticing these things more because of recent exposure and consciousness--and that they've "always" been there. I already know that's somewhat untrue given what people have been saying about societal movement along with PD growth over the last 30 years or so. Somewhat bleak. But at least we know more about this and ourselves than average?

Is the series "Black Box" by chance? That was on for a season... .I guess people didn't care for it? I wonder if people are still more inclined to not want to know about this and hide mental illness. I live where the shooter Dylann Roof was arrested. They are now getting ready to do a psych evaluation... .he is now claiming mentally illness. Problem is, it was premeditated and I believe you have to prove you are schizophrenic or so unable to comprehend what you were doing- that you were "out of your mind" so to speak. I can't imagine that was the case here anyway. People only see mental illness through tv and movies anyway. I don't think they realize they encounter these people every day. I think you are right, we have the advantage now. I think that was why I was so afraid of the guy at the concert. I feel like I can see "them" now... .  Weird.
