Hi,

I just found out that my wife has BPD.  Even more, I went to see my daughter's therapist and she explained to me what BPD is.  I never knew what it was or, in fact, that it even existed.  Ugh.  Part of me is relieved that there is something that explains my wife's behavior.  I have a whole lot to learn and it looks daunting.

Quite a bit, yes.  My wife was reading her diary and text messages.  My daughter now has a chip on her shoulder the size of a log about her.  We have three kids and my wife often goes into their bedrooms and talks about how depressed they are... .how bullied they must be and things like that.  It's like she's planting thoughts.  My oldest, who is starting with a therapist today, has been buying it.  My daughter is fighting back with the help of a therapist she's had for about four months.  When her therapist sat me down and told me what BPD was I was stunned.  I've heard of manipulative people but she broke it down for me and I was just sitting there feeling numb... .realizing I was dealing with something I have no idea how to deal with... .that is more than likely bigger than me.

I'm just numb.
