After spending a couple of years walking on eggshells around our anxious and depression riddled teenager, she was given the diagnosis of being emotionally unstable (BPD).

Life is very bumpy at the moment, never knowing what kind of mood will great you or indeed if the mood on display at any given moment, will last minutes or hours.

I try to remain ever positive about our futures but now and again I have to give myself a good talking to and remind myself she isn't deliberately trying to emotionally batter me, she feels a million time worse.

I've taken up yoga recently and am learning to breath through the stress.  I am constantly anxious about her safety.  I am constantly worrying about her not spending enough time with friends or socializing. I dread waking up and spending hours for her to wake up only to discover today is not a good day.

I am however, her mum.  My love is unconditional and I will do everything in my power to keep you safe, alive and loved by everyone who around us.

Hello Worriedmum99 and welcome to bpdfamily

I'm glad you've found us and sorry what you are dealing with your teen daughter, many parents are in similar situations, you are not alone.

Well done for taking up yoga  Doing the right thing (click to insert in post) have you seen to your right the tool be self-aware and of wisemind, there is also a link within to a workshop discussing mindfulness I found really helpful. My DD has learnt many of the skills to the right in DBT.

Is your DD receiving treatment, how old is she?
