Hi. My first post on here. My dd is currently in adolescent acute tier 4 unit (since April ) for multiple suicide attempts. She has had a lot of trauma since falling ill with physical problems when 12. As the physical problems resolved, it morphed into mental health problems and has recently been diagnosed with BPD. She seems. addicted to suicide almost like it's her destiny. The unit think she may benefit from a residential step down placement but they are all quite a distance from us and I fear her becoming more estranged from us. Does anyone have any experience of these in the U.K. ? Or any other successful programs for teens in the uk. Many thanks

H

Very sorry to hear about your troubles. I made a few enquiries with Khiron House in oxford. I didn't take up their services due to the costs, I'm not sure if they deal with minors. Maybe they know of somewhere suitable if they can't.

They don't do DBT.

Hi there

It's interesting that you mention Khiron House. I spoke to them recently. Unfortunately they don't take minors. I was however very impressed by their program . It made a refreshing change to see such a holistic approach.

Thank you for your info
