Hi, After my daughters first suicide attempt this past June and the ups/downs of working through this diagnosis and then the most recent serious suicide attempt just before Halloween I am struggling to cope myself.
I have had to re learn a whole new level of patience and understanding in a time where we do not get a lot of time for much of anything anymore.
I am trying to ensure to not loose her brother in this new learning curve as well as find a way to manage my own sanity.
Sometimes with not sleeping for days I can barely function to keep her going let alone myself.

Any suggestions of advice for a new family (single parent) who is just beginning to find ways to understand BPD and source out the help and therapy to help us all.

Hello Mktc... .and welcome!

Certainly glad you found us and hopefully by participating on this forum you will find a level of support that will help you along on this difficult journey.

I feel for you in that you are a single parent.  With that said, sometimes being a couple can cause problems because of not being able to be on the same page when it comes to handling these, our problematic children.  I speak from experience in that department!

The one suggestion I will give you now is to make sure to look after yourself.  You have a lot on your plate and unless that is done, life is going to harder.

Hoping to hear more from you Mktc.   By sharing, you will be helping others... .as well as yourself.
